COVID-19 Protocols

TEMPORARY OPERATIONAL CHANGES TO PROTECT YOUR HEALTH INTERACTIVE HEALTH COVID-19 PROTOCOLS EFFECTIVE MARCH 23rd, 2020

To support the prevention of the spread of COVID-19, Interactive Health will be operating on a limited basis. We are using our best professional judgment applying relevant guidelines, such as those of the CDC and the White House Coronavirus Task Force, to determine to stay open to the patient’s in need of care and to relieve strain on the medical system by preventing patients from going to the ER or their primary care physicians.

We will be implementing significant changes to the operation of Interactive Heath. We will be limiting our hours of operation and re-scheduling staff and patients so that no more than 10 persons will be in the office at any given time. In order to limit the patient’s waiting room contact, we will be asking patients to wait in their vehicles until their provider comes to the door to get them. Telemedicine evaluations are also being offered at the patient’s request.

Patients will be prioritized based on acute and subacute conditions.

  • Acute Conditions: Where a patient, without care, would be severely physically limited from being able to perform their basic daily activities. Acute injuries often involve severe pain.
  • Sub-Acute Conditions: A condition/situation that is vulnerable to an acute flare-up if treatment is not received. Flare-up can possibly leave the patient severely physically limited and unable to perform their basic daily activities.

Rigorous disinfecting protocols and social distancing practices will be employed for preventing the spread of infections. We will be allowing enough time before and between seeing patients to sanitize the following: Any equipment that is used with any patient, door handles, light switches, countertops and writing tools. Other changes implemented include: Mandatory provider hand washing involving scrubbing for at least 20 seconds and hand sanitizing between patients, removing waiting room reading material and magazines, providers will check in patients on the computer instead of paper sign-ins to minimize touch to paper, clipboards, pens, etc., positioning chairs in the waiting room six feet or more apart in order to respect social distancing in the event there is more than one person in the waiting room at a time.

Our office is conducting pre-screening of staff and patients for the following:

  • Have you traveled out of state in the last 14 days?
  • Have you had any symptoms of fever, cough, or difficulty breathing?
  • Have you had exposure to anyone withCOVID-19 infection?

We ask that patients notify the office to cancel or re-schedule their appointment if they answer “yes” to any of the screening questions and no penalty or cancellation fees will apply. We will also be taking temperatures of staff daily, and of patients at the beginning of each encounter.
